May change-over

We have reopened our basement with 1000’s of new books.

Part of this month’s stock comes from the library of Anthony Lejeune, a much respected writer, editor and literary critic who died last year at the age of 89. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Lejeune)

Lejeune clearly had a great taste for books: from first editions Wodehouse and Edgar Rice Burroughs to vintage crime and horror stories. Many more will be shelved in the next few months, both in Quinto and Francis Edwards.

In addition to Lejeune’s library we had a few other large buys consisting of literature and the performing arts: books about music from the rock-n-roll and football writer Paolo Hewitt, as well as large sections on classical music and opera.

The main subjects this month are:

Fiction
Poetry
Plays
Shakespeare
Folio Society
LGTBQ
Esoteric
Ancient History
Travel
Naval & Maritime
Cookery

… and much more.
